What does the perfect floor look and feel like? Well, this is it. The newest addition to our Neutrals family, Fredrik, offers the ideal tone—not too light and not too dark—with light blonde, sandy blonde, and tan hues protected by a solvent-free, non-toxic matte acrylic finish. Its lightly brushed texture and occasional knots add just the right amount of character for a modern look that still nods to its organic nature. For fans of bestsellers Fika and Greta, Fredrik is slightly warmer, but still more blonde than a natural oak like Frida. The beveled edge is very subtle making this a wonderfully natural-looking wide-plank floor when installed.

It’s one of our install and enjoy floors, meaning it doesn't require additional maintenance or care other than vacuuming and periodic cleaning with our cleaner.

No random lengths, ever. Each plank is 7” wide and 86 ⅝” long. Enjoy the look of long, full-length boards throughout your home.

Refreshingly matte finish

Minimal in look but mighty in performance. With Fredrik's ultra-matte acrylic urethane, you get the natural, raw look and feel of oiled wood without the maintenance. This solvent-free finish will not yellow over time and is easy to recoat.

European white oak

Naturally beautiful, white oak’s understated elegance makes it a designer favorite. It’s thick enough for two sandings, just in case you want to refinish it down the road. Known as the “king of oaks”, European oak is prized for its steadfast lumber and magnificent form.

Clever locking system

Fredrik's secure locking system minimizes seasonal gapping. It makes installation a breeze — and, dare we say, fun? This floor can be floated, stapled, or glued down.

Pine core

Fast-growing, sustainable, and porous pine strips that expand and contract individually, protecting the top layer of wood. Invented in 1941, this construction is the gold standard in Europe. It’s been performing for lifetimes, which is why we can offer a lifetime warranty.

Spruce backing

Laid opposite the middle layer of pine, it counteracts movement while absorbing moisture from below, the most common cause of damage to wood floors.

Fredrik FAQ's

Overall it's a calming floor with light expression. Roughly 20-30% of the planks will possess a knot or two, with some rare, short cracks (4-6" maximum) presenting themselves at the ends of a plank. We do not consider this to be a high color variation floor.

Not at all. Vacuuming and the occasional dust mop cleaning is all that's needed.

Yes!

Absolutely! This floor performs wonderfully in any area of the home except a full bath.

We recommend using oils by Rubio Monocoat for minor touch ups. The Rubio color we use is named Natural. Small sample bottles can be purchased at various website if needed. Unfortunately, we do not sell their touch up oils at this time.

Yes, two times. The likelihood of you ever needing to sand/refinish your floor is very low. The likelihood of you sanding your floor twice is essentially zero. The main reasons for sanding/refinishing your floors is if they've been heavily neglected and abused to the point of severe damage, or if you wish to change the color. But, sleep peacefully knowing that these floors will last a lifetime for you or the next owners of your space.

We don't consider this to be a high contrast floor. Boards can vary between muted tan to a very soft light brown. This adds an subtle organic movement to the floor which is quite calming.

Since it's such a long plank, yes, it's very likely that the carrier won't be capable of bringing the pallet onto the ground. We recommend having a few people there to assist in taking the cartons off of the truck and into your home. Generally speaking, our carriers will not hand-carry cartons into your house since they are only contracted for curbside delivery.
