Refreshingly matte finish

Minimal in look but mighty in performance. With Frida's ultra-matte acrylic urethane, you get the natural, raw look and feel of oiled wood without the maintenance. This solvent-free finish will not yellow over time and is easy to recoat.

European white oak

Frida is not stained, giving it the true color and organic nature of European white oak. Known as the “king of oaks”, European oak is prized for its steadfast lumber and magnificent form. This layer is thick enough for two sandings.

Clever locking system

Frida's secure locking system minimizes seasonal gapping. When locked together, the planks' connection is strong enough to hang a car from. It makes installation a breeze — and, dare we say, fun? It can be floated, stapled, or glued down.

Pine core

Fast-growing, sustainable, and porous pine strips that expand and contract individually, protecting the top layer of wood. Invented in 1941, this construction is the gold standard in Europe. It’s been performing for lifetimes, which is why we can offer a lifetime warranty.

Spruce backing

Laid opposite the middle layer of pine, it counteracts movement while absorbing moisture from below, the most common cause of damage to wood floors.

Frida FAQ's

Overall it's a calming floor with light expression. Roughly 20-30% of the planks will possess a knot or two, with some rare, short cracks (4-6" maximum) presenting themselves at the ends of a plank. Some planks do possess cathedral graining which accentuates nature's hand. We do not consider this to be a high color variation floor.

Not at all. Vacuuming and the occasional dust mop cleaning is all that's needed.

Yes!

Absolutely! This floor performs wonderfully in any area of the home except a full bath.

We recommend using oils by Rubio Monocoat for minor touch ups. The Rubio color we use is called Mist 5%. Small sample bottles can be purchased at various website if needed. Unfortunately, we do not sell their touch up oils at this time.

Yes, two times. The likelihood of you ever needing to sand/refinish your floor is very low. The likelihood of you sanding your floor twice is essentially zero. The main reasons for sanding/refinishing your floors is if they've been heavily neglected and abused to the point of severe damage, or if you wish to change the color. But, sleep peacefully knowing that these floors will last a lifetime for you or the next owners of your space.

We don't consider this to be a high contrast floor. Boards can vary between muted tan to a very soft light brown. This adds an subtle organic movement to the floor which is quite calming.

Since it's such a long plank, yes, it's very likely that the carrier won't be capable of bringing the pallet onto the ground. We recommend having a few people there to assist in taking the cartons off of the truck and into your home. Generally speaking, our carriers will not hand-carry cartons into your house since they are only contracted for curbside delivery.

It's made in a carbon negative factory in southern Sweden, which collects and recycles all wood waste into biofuel.
