Your home deserves a beautiful staircase. You deserve a perfectly matched stair nosing. Our nosings are the culmination of countless collaborations over the years with our custom home builder clients, as well as taking inspiration from the Swedes who have been making profiles like these for decades. Each nosing is made from individual floor planks. The wide face of the nosing makes it more stable while also making it easier to mount stair railing plates. Rounded, stained to match nosings are a thing of the past.

Made from flooring, these square nosings provide a slight overhang of the stair rise. These nosings are meant to mimic a 'solid tread' while giving you a perfectly matched product with exactly the same character and color as your floor. The edges are slightly eased and finished to protect against wear and tear.

*Note: Nosings for our Hardened Wood floors are made from solid wood stained to match the corresponding floor. Email us at hej@stugastudio.com if you have any questions or want to learn more.

**If a floor is sold out, the lead time on nosing is approximately 4-5 weeks from when the floor is back in stock.**

Squared Stair Nosings FAQ's

Our stair nosings are made to order in our Austin shop and they are fabricated from our floor boards. This provides an exact match to our floors, but we are not able to match them to non-Stuga floors.

While your floors can be installed in many different ways, your stairs should always be glued down for stability.

Stair nosings are made to order in our Austin shop and typically have a 4-5 week lead time for floors that are in stock. They will always ship separately from your floors. We will send your tracking information as soon as your nosings are on the way!

You are able to butt your floors right up against the top stair nosing. You can even switch the direction of your floors and run them perpendicular to the stairs! In this case, both the nosing and flooring need to be cut square with any locking system or tongue removed so they can meet.

Squared nosings for our Rebels products (Cartwheel, Giddy Up, High Five, Kickflip, Half Pipe, and Hang Ten) are made from solid wood and stained to match the corresponding floor. Unlike our other squared nosings, they are not made from the flooring planks themselves.
