What Quality Means at Stuga
Stuga started with a simple goal: To provide well-designed floors and unique stair solutions directly to you, with ease.
Our founder, Marc Bacher, started Stuga after spending years working for the original inventors of engineered hardwood flooring in Sweden. Stuga launched with a collection of floors from this very manufacturer, all of which still use the same 3-layer construction that was invented in 1941.
For our Solvent-free Acrylic Urethane finished floors, not at all. Vacuuming and the occasional dust mop cleaning is all that's needed.
Our Oiled floors need to be oiled immediately after installation. Every year we recommend to re-oil high traffic areas, any areas that take a lot of wear and tear from above like kitchens or entryways.
Absolutely! These floors perform wonderfully in any area except a full bath.

If necessary, we recommend using oils by Rubio Monocoat for minor touch ups. Small sample bottles can be purchased at various website if needed. Unfortunately, we do not sell their touch up oils at this time.
Yes, two times (with the exception of Zig Zag). The likelihood of you ever sanding/refinishing your floor is very low. The likelihood of you sanding your floor twice is essentially zero. The main reasons for sanding/refinishing your floors is if they've been heavily neglected and abused to the point of severe damage, or if you wish to change the color. But, sleep peacefully knowing that these floors will last a lifetime for you or the next owners of your space.
