Charming shops and cafes line the winding maze of cobblestone streets in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s historic “old town” core. Visitors fall in love with the colorful buildings that give Gamla Stan its enchanting atmosphere. With a classic herringbone pattern and stain-free, matte acrylic finish that showcases the oak’s natural beauty, Old Town brings a touch of old-world appeal to your home.

Left and right planks fit together to create this herringbone floor, resulting in an instantly smooth, tabletop flat, bevel-free surface.

Feature our herringbone wood flooring in select areas of your home by pairing Old Town with Tivoli. Its identical color allows for subtle transitions between the products, so you can play with patterns in certain rooms or create a herringbone inlay. Keep in mind that Old Town is thinner than most of our other floors, so the subfloor will need to be built up under Old Town or a transition needs to be added between them.

Old Town FAQ's

Tivoli has a nearly identical stain color that allows for subtle transitions between the two, so you can play with pattern in certain rooms or create a herringbone inlay. Keep in mind that Old Town is shorter than Tivoli, so the subfloor will need to be built up under Old Town or a transition needs to be added between the two.

Overall it's a calming floor with light expression. We do not consider this to be a high color variation floor.

Not at all. Vacuuming and the occasional dust mop cleaning is all that's needed.

Absolutely! This floor performs wonderfully in any area of the home except a full bath.

We recommend using oils by Rubio Monocoat for minor touch ups. The Rubio color we use is named Mist 5%. Small sample bottles can be purchased at various website if needed. Unfortunately, we do not sell their touch up oils at this time.

Yes, two times. The likelihood of you ever needing to sand/refinish your floor is very low. The likelihood of you sanding your floor twice is essentially zero. The main reasons for sanding/refinishing your floors is if they've been heavily neglected and abused to the point of severe damage, or if you wish to change the color. But, sleep peacefully knowing that these floors will last a lifetime for you or the next owners of your space.

We don't consider this to be a high contrast floor. Boards can vary between muted tan to a very soft light brown. This adds an subtle organic movement to the floor which is quite calming.

It's made in a carbon negative factory in southern Sweden, which collects and recycles all wood waste into biofuel.

Both of our herringbone floors (Sisu and Old Town) can only be installed using glue. They lack the locking mechanism that connects the rest of our floors, because a more traditional tongue-and-groove creates an easier herringbone installation.
