It's time to break up with LVP

LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring has a lot of red flags. Just like a toxic relationship, LVP is bad for you, your home, and your health. It’s made with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a controversial substance that harms workers, the environment, and end users. In our opinions? It has to go.

We believe the Rebels make an excellent, nontoxic alternative to vinyl. Their durability and practicality make them a win-win material. Not to mention the many benefits of real wood, from natural beauty to superior indoor air quality. There are only green flags here.

REBELS 101

How can wood be waterproof?

Watch Stuga founder Marc Bacher walk through the one-of-a-kind Swedish construction that makes the Rebels able to withstand spills and puddles for 24 hours.

Plus, learn more about how these floors are making waves in sustainability, durability, indoor air quality, and versatility.

Not at all. Vacuuming and the occasional dust mop cleaning are all that's needed.

Absolutely! These floors perform wonderfully in any area of the home. The acrylic finish cleans up easily, and the waterproof joint ensures that liquids won't seep between the boards.

Yes, you can install Rebels in a full bathroom. As mentioned above, the waterproof joints on the planks prevent water from seeping between boards. They wipe up effortlessly and feel wonderful underfoot because they are made from real wood, not plastic imitations like vinyl or laminate.

If necessary, we recommend using oils by Rubio Monocoat for minor touch ups. The Rubio color we use is called Natural. Small sample bottles can be purchased at various websites if needed. Unfortunately, we do not sell their touch up oils at this time.

No, but you will never need to, thanks to its durable finish and unique construction. The Swedish hardened wood construction (wood powder pressed into the veneer) makes these floors 3-5 times harder than traditional wood floors, thereby reducing scratches and dents. Furthermore, the finishes are solvent- and metal-free so that they can be easily recoated rather than sanded. This ensures the floor will look incredible for years to come. Keep in mind that it's quite rare for wood floors to be sanded, unless you want to change the color. Otherwise, a simple finish recoat is ideal and easily achievable, more sustainable, and less expensive.
