No one does texture and pattern quite like Mother Nature, and no floor quite shows Mother Nature’s hand like Shell. Made of natural oak with just enough white stain to cancel any honey tones, this floor’s color and texture are reminiscent of one of the sun-bleached treasures to be found washed ashore on the coasts of Scandinavia. An oiled, hand-scraped finish means this floor has the same ultra-matte and raw texture of a sand dollar, but with heavy brushing so the wood, its grain, and the tree’s original knots shine through. The result is a modern floor that keeps the quiet, organic feel of a morning walk through the trees.
No random lengths, ever. Each plank is 7 ⅜” wide and 95 ¼" long. Enjoy the look of long, full-length boards throughout your home.
*THIS IS AN OILED FLOOR and needs to be oiled with Satin Oil immediately after installation.

Shell has so much character in the grain and texture while still feeling clean and modern; the flooring is my favorite element in our home.

01
Beautiful oil finish
Common throughout Europe, Shell's oil finish allows the full texture and beauty of wood to take center stage. It provides a wonderfully organic feel underfoot while aging beautifully. In high-traffic areas like kitchens and entryways, annual re-oiling is required.
02
European white oak
Naturally beautiful, white oak’s understated elegance makes it a designer favorite. It’s thick enough for two sandings, just in case you want to refinish it down the road. Known as the “king of oaks”, European white oak is prized for its steadfast lumber and magnificent form.
03
Clever locking system
Shell's secure locking system minimizes seasonal gapping. When locked together, the planks' connection is strong enough to hang a car from. It makes installation a breeze — and, dare we say, fun? This floor can be floated, stapled, or glued down.
04
Pine core
Fast-growing, sustainable, and porous pine strips that expand and contract individually, protecting the top layer of wood. Invented in 1941, this construction is the gold standard in Europe. It’s been performing for lifetimes, which is why we can offer a lifetime warranty.
05
Spruce backing
Laid opposite the middle layer of pine, it counteracts movement while absorbing moisture from below, the most common cause of damage to wood floors.
