A Morning at Sample House with Stuga

by Haley Holm-Pedersen

Samples of Stuga flooring with textiles and ceramics at Sample House NYC

Last week, we hosted a morning gathering at Sample House, the beautifully curated materials library in Long Island City that has become a true creative haven for the trade.

Their space is designed for exploration and discovery, featuring an impressive collection of tiles, fabrics, flooring, hardware, and so much more. Members can build mood boards, experiment with combinations, and check out samples, all within an inspiring studio environment.

For this event, we invited our Trade community to join us for bagels from Utopia Bagels and coffee by Muted Entity while getting hands-on with our full range of Stuga samples.

Throughout the morning, we connected with designers, architects, and developers, and we loved hearing how they think about materials, texture, and warm, natural finishes in their projects. Conversations ranged from the precision and craftsmanship behind our square edge, prefinished herringbone, to the subtle movement and character that make our oiled floors so inviting. Muted Entity created a beautiful and deeply intentional coffee setup that added a meaningful moment of calm to the space.

A special thank you to Sample House for cohosting with us, and to Muted Entity for elevating the morning with incredible coffee and thoughtful presentation. We are grateful to everyone who stopped by, explored our samples, and shared ideas with us. It was a wonderful reminder of how much creativity lives within our Trade community.
